How to Search DeKalb County Inmate Population
The easiest way to search the DeKalb County inmate population is through the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail website. The facility uses the Jail Tracker system, which lets you search by name or browse all current detainees. Each record includes identifying details, arrest information, bond amounts, booking date, release date if applicable, and mugshots when available. The roster is updated as new bookings and releases occur.
You can also search through the VINE Link system, which covers county jails and state prisons across all of Missouri. Search by full name, partial name, or inmate ID number. VINE returns custody status, charges, location, and booking details. You can also register for free alerts if you want to be notified when a specific person's status changes.
If the person you need is not in county custody, check the Missouri DOC Offender Search for state prison records. The Missouri Department of Corrections maintains a separate database for sentenced individuals held at state facilities. For federal cases, the Bureau of Prisons operates its own inmate locator at bop.gov.
Note: There can be a short delay between when someone is booked and when they appear on the online roster. Call 660-367-2200 for real-time status.
Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail Facility Details
The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail holds up to 160 inmates and is the only regional jail in Missouri. Both Daviess and DeKalb counties contribute to the facility's oversight through a board made up of both counties' Presiding Commissioners and Sheriffs. Director Bret Thogmartin oversees day-to-day operations.
The facility handles booking, medical screening, and classification for all incoming detainees. Inmates are assigned to housing based on charge type and other factors to maintain order and safety. The jail operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Court security and inmate transportation are also managed by the regional jail staff. Inmates have access to kiosks inside the facility for commissary orders, administrative messages, and medical requests.
DeKalb County's violent crime rate is 12.8 per 100,000 and the property crime rate is 18.7 per 100,000, which are relatively low compared to state averages. The regional jail serves both pre-trial detainees awaiting court and sentenced individuals serving shorter terms within the county system.

The Missouri Department of Corrections operates separately from county jails. If an individual has been sentenced to state prison, their records are in the DOC system rather than the county roster. The DOC Offender Search lets you look up inmates at any Missouri state prison. The DOC also maintains a full directory of adult institution addresses at doc.mo.gov/facilities/adult-institutions/address-listing.
VINE Link at vinelink.com covers both county and state facilities in Missouri. It is free to use and available around the clock. Victim registration is available for those who want automatic notifications when a specific inmate's custody status changes. The DeKalb County inmate population at the regional jail is tracked through this system.
For probation and parole information, visit the Missouri DOC Probation and Parole page. Individuals who have been released from custody but remain under supervision are tracked there rather than in jail rosters.
