Daviess County Sheriff's Office and Regional Jail

Daviess County handles its jail operations through a shared facility called the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail. This is the only regional jail in Missouri and serves both Daviess and DeKalb counties under a joint agreement. The facility sits at 102 North Meadows Lane, Pattonsburg, MO 64670. The main phone number is 660-367-2200 and the fax is 660-367-2579.

The jail is run by Director Bret Thogmartin, who can be reached at bthogmartin@ddcrj.com. Deputy Director Nicholas Neill (nneill@ddcrj.com) assists with operations. Administrative Assistant Lori Burke (lburke@ddcrj.com) handles general office matters. The regional jail board includes the Presiding Commissioners and Sheriffs from both Daviess and DeKalb counties. This joint structure means both counties pool resources and share costs for detention operations.

How to Search Daviess County Inmate Population

The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail uses the Jail Tracker system to publish its online inmate roster. You can access it directly through the jail's website at ddcrj.com. The roster lets you search by name or browse all current detainees. Each record includes identifying details, arrest information, bond amounts, booking date, release date if set, and mugshots when available.

Another option is VINE Link, the statewide inmate tracking and victim notification platform. VINE lets you search by full name, partial name, or inmate ID number. It covers county jails and state prisons across Missouri. You can also register for free alerts when a specific inmate's status changes, such as a release or transfer.

For state prison inmates, use the Missouri DOC Offender Search. If someone has been convicted and sent to a Missouri Department of Corrections facility, they will not appear in the county jail roster. The DOC search covers all state-level facilities. For federal cases, check the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator at bop.gov.

Note: Rosters update as bookings and releases happen, but a short delay is normal. Call 660-367-2200 to confirm current custody status in real time.

Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail Facility Details

The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail holds up to 160 inmates. It is the only facility of its kind in Missouri, meaning two counties jointly operate one detention center rather than each running a separate jail. This setup is unusual statewide and reflects the relatively small populations of both Daviess and DeKalb counties.

The facility runs booking and intake around the clock. When an individual is booked, staff record identifying information, process belongings, conduct a medical screening, and assign housing. Classification is based on charge type and other factors. The jail holds both pre-trial detainees and sentenced individuals serving shorter terms.

Inmates have access to kiosks inside the facility. These kiosks let them purchase items from the commissary, send messages to jail administration, and request medical services. This system helps reduce direct staff contact for routine requests and keeps operations running smoothly.

The court security division of the regional jail provides controlled access to courthouses for both counties. Inmate transportation to court and other facilities is also handled by regional jail staff. The county seat of Daviess County is Gallatin, Missouri.

Visitation and Communication Policies

Visitation at the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and again from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Visits take place in a non-contact visiting room. All visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Walk-in visits are not permitted.

Video visits are available through Inmate Canteen for those who cannot travel to the facility. Remote video visits let friends and family connect with inmates from home or another location. This option is useful for people who live far from Pattonsburg or cannot visit during the weekday hours.

For mail, inmates can receive up to 10 photographs with a maximum size of 4 by 6 inches. Softcover books from a publisher or distributor are allowed, with a limit of two books at a time. A soft-backed Bible is also permitted. All incoming mail must include the sender's full name and return address on the outside of the envelope. No hardcover books or other materials are accepted.

Money can be deposited into an inmate's account at the jail in person using cash or a credit card. Money orders sent by mail are also accepted. Online deposits can be made through Inmate Canteen at any time. The account funds commissary purchases and can be used for phone calls and other approved services.

State Resources for Missouri Inmate Records

The Missouri Department of Corrections maintains records for all state prison inmates separate from county jail populations. If a person has been convicted and sentenced to a state facility, they won't appear in the regional jail roster. Use the DOC Offender Search to look up inmates in state custody. The DOC also maintains a facility address listing for all adult institutions in Missouri.

VINE Link works across both county jails and state prisons in Missouri. It also provides victim notification services, alerting registered users when an inmate's custody status changes. This includes releases, transfers, and court dates. Registration is free and the service is available 24 hours a day. The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail is listed in the VINE system along with all other facilities statewide.

The Missouri DOC Probation and Parole division at doc.mo.gov/divisions/probation-parole handles supervision of individuals who have been released from prison or are serving non-custodial sentences. If the person you're looking for is not in custody, they may be under probation or parole supervision instead.

VINE Link and Victim Notification

Missouri uses the VINE Link system statewide to help track inmates and notify victims. VINE stands for Victim Information and Notification Everyday. You can register online at vinelink.com or by calling the toll-free helpline. Once registered, the system automatically sends alerts when a specific inmate's status changes. Alerts can be sent by phone, email, or text message depending on your preference.

The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail is part of the VINE network. This means the facility reports custody data to the VINE system, which allows victims and family members to track an inmate's status without having to call the jail. You can also do a one-time search on VINE without creating an account. The service is free and available around the clock.
