Andrew County Jail Facility Details

The Andrew County Jail opened in 2012. It holds up to 80 inmates across seven separate cell block areas. Three of those blocks are maximum security. One is medium security. Two are low-risk housing areas. The last block is used to hold individuals for investigation. This layout allows staff to manage the inmate population by risk level and charge type.

The jail houses detainees not just for Andrew County but also for several other jurisdictions. These include the City of Savannah, Country Club Village, Clinton County, Holt County, Independence, Jackson County, Lee's Summit, and Wyandotte County in Kansas. This makes Andrew County Jail a regional facility that serves a wide geographic area in northwest Missouri and the Kansas City metro edge.

Intake involves property inventory, medical screening, and standard booking procedures. After booking, detainees are assigned to a housing area based on their classification. The facility runs 24 hours a day with staff available throughout the week.
