Jail Facility Details
The Carter County Jail at 105 Main Street in Van Buren was built in 2006. An expansion in 2010 increased the facility to six cells with 12-prisoner capacity. The jail handles pre-trial detainees and sentenced inmates serving shorter terms. For longer state sentences, inmates are transferred to Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.
